US-China 'goodwill' Basketball Match Erupts In Violence
BEIJING: What began as a goodwill trip to Beijing for the Georgetown University men's basketball team turned violent Thursday (August 18) night, when its exhibition game against Chinese Bayi Rockets deteriorated into an ugly fight, Chinese media reported. Georgetown coach John Thompson pulled his players off the court with 9 minutes 32 seconds left in the 4th quarter and the scores tied at 64.

Hundreds of files involving detainees at Guantanamo Bay have been included in the latest Wikileaks papers, including an interview with Mohammed who told of advice provided to Al Qaida to spare Pearl's life, a recommendation that was denied. Pearl was killed.
Khalid Sheik Mohammed was waterboarded by those interrogating him at Guantanamo Bay, aparently around 183 times but an LA Times report indicates Pearl was taken to the house of the terrorist organization's finance chief in Pakiston, Saud Memon and killed there.
Mohammed was caught in March 2002 and told his interrogators about a discussion with Sayf alAdl, an Al Qaida commander, who was told not to murder Pearl. Pearl was killed in 2002 and his wife Mariane Pearl is to be on Capitol Hill Tuesday for a panel discussion on press freedom.
The killing of Daniel Pearl and issues relating to the release of Osama bin Laden's death pictures are occupying increasing time among US media and political sources.

Sad News for PhotoJournalism community. Two photojournalists are killed and two others injured in rocket attack in Misrata, Libya. It's a sad day for the photojournalism community. Tim Hetherington, a British Photojournalist and co-director of the documentary "Restrepo," and Chris Hondros, an American Photojournalist with Getty Images, were killed by a rocket propelled grenade in Misrata. Two other photojournalists, Guy Martin and Michael Christopher Brown, were also injured, but less severely.

Hot Bidding In Justin Bieber Hair Auction
LOS ANGELES (Reuters) - A single lock of Justin Bieber's newly-shorn hair is being auctioned off for charity and bids had reached $6,700 on eBay early on Thursday.
The 16 year-old Canadian pop idol cut his trademark floppy hair earlier this week, and presented one of the locks to TV talk show host Ellen DeGeneres.
"I'm giving pieces of it to different people," Bieber told DeGeneres. "We're doing something special. We want you to donate it to whatever charity you want."
DeGeneres put the hair, placed in a plexiglass box signed by Bieber, up for auction on Wednesday with all the proceeds to benefit the California animal rescue organization The Gentle Barn.
Bidding started at $10 and quickly reached $6,700. The auction will end on March 2.
Bieber's hair stylist told People magazine that the "Baby" singer had been talking for months about cutting his hair and adopting a more mature look.
"Cutting your hair is just part of the evolution and growing process for anyone, and I think he was just ready," stylist Vanessa Price told the magazine. "We've been talking about it over the last 6 months or so -- more or less, it's definitely been in the works for a while."
